For members of most Western European countries, a valid ID card is sufficient.

Children must accompany their parents and either enter under their parents passports or using their own identification document. For citizens of certain countries, a visa is necessary for entry.

U.S. citizen, Australia citizen:
No Visa required. Stay may not be longer than 3 months every half year.

Germany does not require special vaccination for travellers. In each city, a medical emergency service exists for assistance on nights and weekends. You can find the telephone number for your city in the local directory. Also the pharmacies have services open on nights and Sundays. At each pharmacy you can find the address of the next on-duty pharmacy.

If it happens that you are in an accident or are being attacked you should call the police at the emergency number 110. This number is used throughout Germany and is free of charge from public telephones. There are telephone booths located in train stations and off city streets, as well as off the freeway. You can contact the fire department anywhere in Germany by calling the number 112.
