Oberammergau
and a
Build-Your-Cuckoo-Clock workshop
 |
The Oberammergau
Passion Play, the Black Forest, and a Cuckoo Clock - how could
a trip of Germany be more German? This itinerary gives your
travelers a perfect summary of Germany's most traveled and
most loved areas.
|
Starting
in Munich your group first explores the capital of
Bavaria. The Town Hall, Viktualienmarkt, Frauenkirche, Opera,
and of course the Hofbräuhaus are just a few samples
of things to see.
From
Munich the tour continues south to Oberammergau, famous for
its Passion Play performed by the villagers every ten years.
But even before the 2020 Oberammergau Passion Play,
the Passion Play theater and museums make a lasting impression
on visitors.

|
Passing
Linderhof Palace and Wieskirche the group arrives at Neuschwanstein
to see King Ludwig's famous fairy-tale castle nestled in
the Bavarian Alps.
|
A
little north is the Black Forest, famous for it's Schwarzwälderkirschtorte
Cherry Cake. The visit in a local pastry provides a yummy taste
of this special delicacy. Also the world-renowned Cuckoo Clocks
originate from the area. After visiting a cuckoo clock museum
the group can join a three hour workshop to build their own,
individual clock! Could a souvenir be more personal than a homemade
cuckoo clock? |
|
After this exciting
week in Southern Germany the group could fly home from Munich or
Frankfurt, or extend the tour by adding other destinations like
Switzerland, the Luther Sites, or even Tuscany or France...
This itinerary
is a sample, based on tours we planned for groups. But no two Terra
Lu tours are the same. Our proposal for you might be different,
depending on time of travel and availability of services.
