10 Days Oberammergau and Luther Sites

This tour takes you to the place of the Oberammergau Passion Play, plus the places of your Lutheran heritage:

Day 1 Arrival in Frankfurt, Germany.
Meet your tour director and the nice driver with the modern TERRA LU TRAVEL coach for a magnificent tour of your Lutheran heritage and the Oberammergau passion play. The bus takes you to Erfurt. In the afternoon a local guide will take you on a walking tour through Erfurt. Hold the evening prayers with your group in the church of the Augustinian Cloister, the original church where Martin Luther was a monk. Time to rest and for the welcome dinner.

Day 2 Wartburg.
On a day trip you'll visit Wartburg castle where Martin Luther translated the bible. The famous Lutheran composer Johann Sebastian Bach was born in Eisenach, and you will visit the outstanding exhibits with man original instruments. Back to Erfurt and time to stroll the old town for a good dinner restaurant.

Day 3 Eisleben.
Eisleben is the town where Martin Luther was born and died. See his baptismal fond and the original pulpit. On to Wittenberg, the center of Reformation.

Day 4 Wittenberg.
Stroll the streets of "the" reformation town. With a guided tour you will visit the castle church door where Luther posted the 95 thesis, town church, and world's largest reformation museum. Be welcomed at the International Lutheran Welcome center and enjoy the evening in one of the local restaurants.

Day 5 Coburg/ Hummel porcelain.
The early start in the morning takes you to the Goebel factory, home of world's famous Hummel collection. Watch the Goebel artists at work at a tour through the factory. Night in Coburg, where Luther was hidden at the time of the Augsburg diet. Tonight the group meets for dinner in our nice hotel.

Day 6 Augsburg.
In Luther's time Augsburg was the business center of Germany. Here the Fugger family had the headquarters, and the Lutherans proclaimed their faith with the Augsburgian confession.

Day 7 Oberammergau.
Today enjoy the original Passion Play theater. Every ten years the Passion Play is performed by the inhabitants of Oberammergau. See the museum, attend an event in the theater (on availabilty), or stroll the streets of this typical bavarian village.

Day 8 Rhine.
After a relaxing night and a good breakfast the bus takes you up North to the Rhine valley. Night in a picturesque small village at the river.

Day 9 Rhine Cruise.
Enjoy the last day of this exciting trip with a boat cruise on the Rhine river. In the evening it's time for a farewell dinner and a good taste of wine.

Day 10 Frankfurt.
After your bus takes you to the airport it's time to say good bye to terra lutherana, Luther's land. Your homebound flight arrives the same day.
